Many years ago, Dave Pearson broke 500 times with an 11oz cue, 500 times with an 18oz cue, and 500 times with a 27 oz cue, to see what performed the best. Dave spent nearly a month trying to figure out what gives you the best explosion. Dave found that the lighter cue performed better because it was easier to follow through with your stroke and keep it accurate. The heavy cue is not relevant to getting more balls to explode, it's the consistency of hitting the object ball fuller.From this research, Dave designed the Pearson Ball Buster Break Cue. It is an 18 oz cue that lives up to its name. The Pearson phenolic tip is used to give you that extra bite and keep its shape for longer.
